A car doubler is a parking system that allows one car on top of the other, in a space normally designated for only one parking space.
With these systems there is no need to dig a housing pit, although it is possible to opt for this solution depending on the model chosen.
Depending on the type of doubler, parking spaces can be duplicated or tripled. These are systems that can be installed both inside the structure and outside, such as in garages, residential buildings, car dealerships, car service and rental centers, and public and private parking systems.
Most garages, for example, are narrow and can only accommodate one car, but thanks to the doubler you can take advantage of the height and so, with the same surface area, you get 2 levels of parking, without the need to carry out construction work.
Car doublers are divided into two categories:
A parking system with dependent removal works in such a way that in order to exit with the car placed on the upper platform, one must first pull out the car that is under the lift. As a result, it does not involve excavation.
A parking lot with independent removal, on the other hand, does not require the vehicle positioned under the lift to be moved, because the lower platform allows the car to be parked concealed within a specially excavated compartment.
There are three models of parking doublers designed by Svecom Parking Solutions, although then, each can be customized according to the structural or functional needs of the applicant.
The Beta model for car boxes falls into the dependent parking category and consists of a balanced moving platform attached to the shoulders of two columns that act as uprights.
The Epsilon with pit model is independent removal. It can be two-floor, acting as a simple car lift for a private individual, or three-floor, allowing up to three cars to be parked independently of each other.
The cantilever model is also with independent removal, involves the system moving vertically on a parallelepiped-shaped compartment and stopping at floor zero or floor plus one, depending on whether the car needs to enter or leave the parking lot
Car doublers can be freestanding or can be installed against the walls of the structure.
To facilitate parking maneuvers, the maximum stroke of car doublers reaches lower heights than those of car lifts, as the latter, on the other hand, can provide man-over-board or man-over-ground system, while the roof cover is provided only for the Epsilon model with pit.
Maintenance of car doublers is stipulated by law and can be carried out every 6 months only by trained personnel.
